Dana Dreifus
  • Studio Owner, Certified Pilates, Core Align, and Barre Instructor

I started practicing Pilates after sustaining a spinal injury in a car accident. I tried many forms of therapy, but Pilates was the only one that seemed to help in a long-term way. After about five years of studying Pilates as a student, I realized I would need to practice it forever. This inspired me to share with others what had helped me so much.

I have studied thousands of hours of Pilates from multiple teachers, physical therapists, and movement educators. For the past ten years, I’ve worked in the field in my studio, PT clinics and at top local studios, and I’ve developed my professional skills while I’ve continued to practice Pilates for my own injuries. Because I came to Pilates as the result of being injured, I deeply understand how difficult it can be to start a movement rehabilitation process, and I will always be sensitive to your particular needs.

I completed a local 500-hour pilates teacher training in 2008, and since then I have completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in pilates and rehabilitative based movement. I have also completed certifications in Barre and Core Align instruction through Balanced Body, and am currently in a yoga teacher training program at Whole Yoga in Denver.

Prior to earning my Pilates Certification, I graduated from CU-Denver with a B.S in biology, and I worked in an Internal Medicine office in Capitol Hill for seven years, so I’m very experienced in working with doctors who help patients through rehabilitation efforts.

Amanda Fletcher fell head-over-heels in love with Pilates after trying it for the first time while in law school. At first, Pilates was simply a way to get in great shape and manage stress, but it quickly became so much more. Amanda knew she wanted to help people, but something about being in law wasn’t quite right. At the age of 14 Amanda lost her mother, which caused her body and mind to stop communicating, in order to protect her from the trauma. Sadly, such disconnect also kept her from feeling the joys of everyday life. It was Pilates that brought that joy and connection back. Since starting Pilates, Amanda became incredibly passionate about movement as a way to integrate the mind, body and spirit. After all, we are not just our mind, body, or spirit--all of these aspects of ourselves are interconnected. We can help our mind and spirit by working through and with our body! After feeling and living what Pilates could do, Amanda knew that it was her mission to pay it forward. She enrolled in a 500-hour Pilates Teacher Training program in San Diego and became Pilates Method Alliance certified shortly after. Recently, Amanda enrolled in her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Samadhi Center for Yoga in Denver, CO to further her passion for movement training. In addition to having the honor of teaching Pilates at Whole Body Pilates, Amanda is excited to be teaching Yoga at Whole Body Barre.
